Athens Pride 2025

Athens Pride is the annual celebration of the LGBTQ+ community in Greece, blending strong social messaging with a unique Greek party atmosphere. The first official Athens Pride took place in June 2005, marking the beginning of a visible and organized LGBTQ+ presence in the city’s public life. Although various “pride” events had been held in the city since the mid-1980s, Athens Pride 2005 marked the first Pride Parade through the city center, in front of the Hellenic Parliament during daylight.

Over the years, Athens Pride has grown into a week-long series of events and parties, culminating in a colorful pride parade with a strong solidarity message. The festival typically features concerts, cultural events, and parties held in venues like Technopolis (Gazi), an industrial museum and major cultural venue in the neighborhood of Gazi, next to Keramikos.

The 2025 edition of Athens Pride is scheduled to celebrate its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility in Greece. As a fully voluntary organization, Athens Pride relies entirely on the dedication of its volunteers to bring the festival to life. The event has become a significant part of Athens’ cultural calendar, attracting participants from across Greece and beyond, reflecting the city’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
