Boston Pride has been a cornerstone of the city’s LGBTQ+ community since its inception in 1971. The first official Boston Gay Pride Parade saw around 300 marchers advocating for equal rights and anti-discrimination laws. Over the years, the event has grown exponentially, with recent celebrations attracting up to 750,000 participants. In 2023, a new volunteer-led organization, Boston Pride For The People, revitalized the event, emphasizing inclusivity and community engagement.
