Every year on December 1st, the world marks World AIDS Day. According to UNAIDS, the day is dedicated to supporting people living with HIV and to remembering those who have lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses.
Why December 1st still matters
HIV awareness is not a thing of the past. Access to prevention, testing, treatment, and care is still directly tied to human rights, public health, and the fight against stigma.
What World AIDS Day reminds us of
The day asks us to talk about HIV accurately, without fear and without moralizing. It reminds us that the stigma around HIV can get in the way of healthcare, quality of life, and social inclusion.
A message that never goes out of date
Visibility, accurate information, and solidarity with people living with HIV are not seasonal issues. They are a permanent part of a community that wants to be safe, fair, and informed.
